The vice head of the Water Authority confirms that they achieved a lot regarding the development of the structure of water supply and sewage system
The vice head of the water authority, Mr. Fadel Koush, told Wafa that they achieved progress regarding restructuring the services of water supply and sewage system. He verified that the first stage of the project of the American assistance provided by the American development agency has finished. This stage includes digging 4 aquifers, constructing two water containers at Al-Dheisheh camp and at Halhoul village, establishing a station for squirting water in Saeer village, settling main water pipes and providing 11 villages in Jenin administration by water supply. The costs allocated to the first stage reached $46 million. He verified that the second stage includes digging 11 aquifers at the north of the West Bank and another 16 aquifers at other locations. He added that it also includes constructing a water container in At Dura village and digging an aquifer At Aqraba village. The allocated costs of the second stage are $80 million. The third stage includes developing the management of the resources of the ground waters in Gaza. The allocated costs are $50 million. He added that the PA has achieved other projects financed by the governments of Japan and Switzerland, which include digging an aquifer at Kabatiah village, developing the aquifer of Toubas village, establishing a station for squirting water and digging an aquifer at soufit village in Kalkilia, in addition to rehabilitating the water supply net at Saeer village.
